Panda Gobies

Anybody ever kept these? I think they are just too cute, but the information on them is limited. I am very tempted to get a couple but I am curious about their personalities and feeding habits. If anyone has one or knows someone who does, LET ME KNOW!! :D

I have two Pocillopora colonies as well as many other branching SPS colonies. I got the colonies just for the panda gobies, but now I am hesitant to get some. I haven't heard ANY good experiences and understand they hide alot. I like small fish, and these guys would have a hayday in my 175, but I am second guessing now.

A friend had a couple in a 12g nano and rarely saw them. Putting one into a 175 would be like putting an ant on a football field and trying to find it from the nosebleed seats :)

haha - true...but hey, it would give me a big surprise everyime I saw them!

I've finally found some info on these guys and its all pretty bad, so I think I've changed my mind about these little guys. thanks!!!

I had a panda in my 2.5 for about 3 months and it always stayed under my frogspawn. And when I added my little barnicle blenny, I never saw him again. I also never saw the fish eat!. He was very cool while he lasted. Maby he went down the overflow, he was very small.

I neever got them to eat :

They also where very agressive towards each other, so keeping multiple is not a good idea.

I had one a while back.
Put in a dead pocillopora skeleton just for it to host in.

Like Peter's, mine did not survive long even though it was gutloaded with BBS before release.

Thats good news Dave!

Could you observe if it damages the coral or what kind of food it takes?

It seems like it might cause some minor damage in the heart of the colony but I'm not sure because what I'm seeing could also be what happens when the colony gets larger / denser.

...Ah Hell,I have one coming in tomorrow..What about him being with a dragonett?Crap, made an impulse buy:lol:
