Looking for some help! My led build is all done and on the tank. looking to get some par readings led vs MH. Anyone have one?

i'm free tonight after 6 and most of the day fri. and most of the weekend. you tell me what's best for you.
Thanks

Prob the weekend I am near the garland house so not to far I love to se what you did. what are the details on your fixture and tank

Great! my tank is a 120 4x2x2. i made 2 fixtures out of 4" square extruded aluminum. 36 leds on each side- 18 blue ,13 cw,5 ww. All driven by 3 meanwell eln 60 48p. controlled by a typhoon. This all replaced 2x250 MH.
I can still put one of the MH back in to see side by side.
Thanks

My thinking was better to have extra light and dimm them down. Then not enough. Running all strings @ 600ma when controler is @100%. started with all @50% a week ago and now i'm up to blues70% blue&white@60% and whites still @50%. Working my way up.

yep parallel! 3 48p's each one running 2 parallel strings of 12
will send you pm later for your number
Thanks again

Here's some quick pics. lights are dimming down . blues are @60% blue&whites@ 20% whites are off. The look is not this purple in person.I'm no good with this camera.

In case anyone wants to know par was great!
Old mh was 200-220 @ 2" /150-160 @ about half way/ 60-90 @ bottom
Now the leds , controller @ 100% is 600ma to each string of 12
380-440@ 2" / 260-280@ about half way / 105-117 @ bottom
NICE!

I see optics on the LEDs - what width are they?

Also maybe I missed this, but what models and bins of LEDs?

How good was the coverage? Did the PAR readings stay strong right to the edges of the tank?

I believe he is using a mix of 40 and90 % optics and is running a off brand led that are very impressive by the sounds of it. I love the parallel strings that he is running I may need some help with those some day steve

optics are a mix of 30,40,60,90. 30 of them 45's /20 of them 60's/the rest a mix of 30& 90. bought the led's off ebay the specs are close to some of the cree's so I took a chance. I tried to get a brand name out of the seller but no luck. All he told me was the are made in taiwan then finished in china. and then shipped to him in US. He also has the optics. I didn't really check out to the very edge. 117 par was about 8" or so from the edge (at the base of the rock)and 105 was like 3-4"away from edge.
Jeff parallel strings are easy don't sweat it.
