Paracentropyge multifasciatus Trade or FS

I have a healthy multibar angel that I would like to trade or sell. It is currently in a 55g fish only with a juvenile regal and golden angel, swissguard basslet and two spot wrasse. The last picture is the most recent and is in a different tank than the previous pictures. The multibar is the dominant of the 3 and causes stress towards the other 2 angelfish which is why I want to trade for it. Its is not a good reef dweller... began nipping trachys, acans, platygyra, leptoseris and some sps. He does not eat any prepared foods that I feed (spirulina brine, mysis, formula 2, nori, pellet, clam). Although the fish does not eat prepared foods he has been in my tanks for 5 weeks now and is actively grazing on live rock (and coral) since day 2. It's weight is good and is not thin or malnurished. It eats the algae/sponge growth in my tank so a good established tank is essential. Does not have any known parasites, worms, infections.... This is a very cool that I realy like, the way is grazes the rock and swims through the reef is uniqure from other anglefish. It is not terribly shy at all once it is established and has shown now aggression except to other angelfish
I am open to trades for possibly another juvenile regal angel I want to pair with my current. Any rare or unusuall or difficult fish to keep. Also open for trades for corals espcially sps. If you want to trade just let me know what youre willing to trade. I will also accept $75

Thanks for looking. If you want newer/clearer photos or a video I can send them by text. - charles

I'd still be very concerned that it's not eating regular foods...they can survive for weeks without eating, but then...

Yes I would definitely like if it would eat prepared foods for variety. However he is still has the same body definition since when I got it and see it poop so it is getting food. He is in the same tank as a golden angel who also does not eat anything except algae and sponge, the golden has been kickin and healthy for the past 8 months.

from your avatar... how are your pair of bandeds doing? do they eat prepared?

Doing good, eat everything, they are together at least a yr...I'm planning an upgrade in the next few months, and thinking to up the total to 5 Multibars ...also have 4 Flame angels, 1 Coral Beauty, a Regal (also adding 1 more) and 5 Genicanthus angels...~80 fish total.

Oh man that would so freakin awsome! Was there a specific food they began eating first? How big is that tank? For me i think I enjoy fish more than corals.

I start those (and other hard to feed) fish in a separate QT system with live rock, macro algae and thousands of pods, usually works to keep them eating something until they get used to prepared foods...also have an 'older' fish that is already eating everything to set an example.

Current tank is 450g, with 200g sump...new system will have a 400g and 300g DTs, with the 200g and additional 130g sump...frag tanks are on a separate system that can be adjusted in multiple configurations from 150g to ~500g

Have you heard other problems other than the one species? I heard about it too. Not debating, just curious Corey

Honestly no I have not, but I would not risk it. And due to certain things that were said by Larry, I will never patronize him. Its hard to support businesses that have owners who can't take responsibility for their faults, and immaturity.

Now i say that someone should jump on this beauty!

I use both reef frenzy and chowdown and my multibarred ate both very well for over a year. I re-homed him a couple of weeks ago because he developed a taste for corals, but he did eat any frozen food I threw in the tank.

Cory and Rik: what is the issue with reef frenzy and angels? I haven't heard anything. I still have a regal and an interruptus and don't want to fee anything that will cause long term problems.

Some pics from yesterday. This fish is hard to get a good close shot because is shy when I get too close. Tried to get some pics of it picking at algae on the bottom.

Not for angels its not

LMAO. A few or even several isolated cases of a some fish with a case of bloat or whatever doesn't demonstrate a trend. Especially when there are hundreds if not thousands of angels eating the same food for a long time without issue. My angels and other fish love the stuff and I've been feeding them that every day for over a year. Even if by off chance the issue had something to do with the food which would be a very isolated scenario, think about all the food recalls that we face today. I think you are more likely to get food poisening at In & Out Burger or better yet Red Lobster (either not very likely) than have your Angel fish suffer because of eating that food.

That whole issue is getting blown way out of proportion in my humble opinion. At least at face value where the quality of the food is concerned.

Agreed.

I think now that you're getting more of these rare deepwater fish available in the trade due to these divers going to deeper depths to collect that they didn't do in the past, it's possible that these lesser known species have different dietary needs, digestive systems etc. and maybe different foods are causing different reactions from one species to the other and that's my humble opinion.
