Parameters for a blue carpet

My tank has been up for about a year and half now, maybe a little bit longer. Everything is doing fine, I have a mix of SPS and LPS. I have a pair of Rod's Onyx, and I want to get a blue carpet. I have read that they are expert only, I'm no expert, but nothing is dying in my tank. Everything is doing very well actually. What water parameters do I need to keep this carpet? I do have a chiller and my water stays at a constant 77 degrees. I have read and searched about this, but would like a more personalized answer. Thanks in advance!

Anemones need higher amounts of lighting (7w+ /gal) with good water condition (no nitrates, nitrites, etc...), decent flow, and a constant temp of 76 - 80....

Remember tho, (1) they sting like hell, (2) they move around until they find a suitable space which may not be to your (or other corals) liking...

Check to make sure Onyx wil host a carpet.

Im no expert. Look at my tank specs. I do water changes and keep my water extra clean.

Its not about watts per gallon really but how much PAR the anemone is receiving. You can have 4 watts per gallon of Tek T5s and can keep many things.

Carpets though are one of the more aggressive stingers and move until they find a great spot. When I got my bluecarpet, he settled in instantly. They need good indirct flowm and pretty good water parms. Good luck...heres mine:

it is the stability of water parameters that you need to shoot for.

Lighting is also critical though haddoni are able to thrive with less light than many other anemones.

As others have said they will choose their own spot in the tank and may well sting/kill some of your corals as it moves around the tank looking for its favorite spot.

You also need to know that all the carpet anemomes will eat fish. Percula have been made into carpet meals so that is always a possibility.

Can carpets move while they are in the sand or do they have to unattatch and take their foot out completely and then move or can they move in the sand?

My LTA moves around with it's foot still in the sandbed. I would assume that haddoni would have no trouble doing the same.

Yeah...I think my carpet moved am inch or two.

MY LTA has slowly worked its way to the front of my tank. He also took the rock his foot is planted under with him. These guys are pretty strong over time.
