Parameters for lps

I have been keeping lps and sps. There aren't very many sps that I really like.
I think I am going all lps. I do get great growth on the sps, I think better than
the lps. <My alk, cal, and mag are fine. My question is where should phos. and nitrates be?
Now phos. are 0.02 to 0.05. Nitrates are less than 1 just a trace. I am dosing vinegar.

Thanks for the help

just have a few acans, and candycanes, and some softies but i keep mine at 450 Ca, 1300Mg, Alk about 10, PO4 .01 nitrates hover around 3ppm and the acans at least are growing rapidly

Mine are about the same as this. I have noticed if Alk goes below 10 my Acans start to throw a fit and if I go above 11 some others like Duncan seem to throw a fit. 10-10.5 seems to be the range I stay in.

As long as they don't get out of control, i don't worry about nitrates or phosphates much with lps, i just keep them fairly low. On a side note, i keep my alk at 8-8.5 in my mixed reef and all the lps are fine, as well as the sps. I do heavy feeding, more so as of late with getting my mandarin on frozen thawed. Lps seem to love it, as well as spot feeding.

Don't you worry about nitrates or phosphates?

Yes and no. I do have a 40 gallon refugium on each tank (in addition to the sump) and I do run GFO. But I do not measure them. You can sort of tell by looking at your tank how things are going.

I agree with this and do the same, I also have some caps in my tank as well that don't give me any issues with where i keep my alk, i guess its all in how the individual tank responds.
