ParanoidObseshun's 27g Cube

I recently decided to try the Bayer Insect killer as a coral dip and it seems to have worked out nicely. I had a bunch of tiny bugs crawling all over a few of my frogspawns and no other dip would affect them so I finally tried this. After the dip I didnt notice a single bug crawling around any of the pieces and I still dont notice any several days later. All the pieces are inflating a lot more and just look healthier overall.

Here is an updated FTS

Thanks!

Haha yeah it looks like that with the way the sandbed is. A lot of the frags on the bottom will be mounted to the rockwork soon. Just need to rearrange a few things and get a piece or two out of the tank.

Took a couple more pictures today after moving some things around.

Here is a shot of my sour apple birdsnest when I got it.

You've got some healthy looking corals there. I'm surprised you don't use a skimmer. 4-5 gallon water changes seem to be working well, though.

Thanks! I have thought about using a skimmer on this tank. After looking into a bunch of skimmers I felt that only the AquaC Nano would actually work for the tank. I could have it in the back of the tank between the two pipes that hold up my light. Then it could just flow right into my overflow. Since it seems that my weekly water changes are working good enough for the tank I didnt feel it was necessary at the moment.

Since my last update I have removed both the powerheads that were in the tank and replaced them with an Mp10es. So far I love having this in the tank compared to the other two pumps. I am getting a lot better flow all over the tank and the temperature of the tank stays more stable. Didnt realize how much those other 2 powerheads were heating up the water.

Here are some updated pictures.

That coral stock is amazing! Tanks that are filled just like that, much like mine as well, bring out so many colors and overall reef type atmosphere that it is truly appealing. I like how you put the pieces in certain places, trying to evening it out on both sides! Overall beautiful tank!

Thanks guys!

Here are some updated pictures. Not the best but you can get the idea.

Here is a quick update on the tank. I just got my new light fixture and got it all hooked up last night. I am just trying to find that sweet spot with the settings.

Here is a top down shot. Id rather take a shot like this than a FTS because you can get a better view of the tank and corals.

Here is a frag I picked up 2 weeks ago right before I went on vacation. When I got it it was a little hurt and was solid green. This picture was taken underneath the old light and was after a week in the tank. You can already see it growing on the edges and it has colored up nicely and has a lot better polyp extension than when I got it.

And then here is a picture of a strawberry shortcake frag I have. I have been waiting for about 2 months for this frag to start getting some color and after a while I could start seeing a little green. It wasnt until I hooked up my new light fixture that the colors really came out. I was surprised at the difference in color just after switching lights. Picture underneath old fixture is on the left and the new fixture is on the right.
