Parasite? Ick?

Anyone know where to get an identification chart for different types of fish parasites? I was looking up just descriptions, but I can't really tell. My damsel had a white/grayish dot on his tail fin and within 3 days it got a lot bigger. I just picked it off, and it was a pretty good size. I am concerned that this will be something that spreads to everything else in my tank.

sounds like what my trigger had it was a fungus. Freshwater dip for 5 minutes one time and now healthy as can be. Just do reasearch first.

So you put it in a bowl of freshwater for 5 minutes and now its gone?

EDIT: I just looked it up and it says its for most infections like that. I think I will do that. Thanks for the advice. I dont know where he got it but can it spead to other things in the tank such as my LR? And cause damage?

well it all depends on a number of things. I would treat him with freshwater treatments for 5 minutes a day for three days. Important that the temp and PH are at about the same level. You dont want to shock the fish too much. another thing to is you want to place a rock in there so f he wants to hide he can. Just watch him at first sometimes they will sink and not move. Give him 30 seconds and then if his is either motionless or if he seems to be in shock return him asap. I am by no way an expert just giving you advice on how i treated mine. Do some reasearch onthe web.
