I shone a flashlight onto one of my SPS that wasnt look good... saw some of the tip was sliming up / releasing weird white stringy stuff. Then I saw a tiny shrimp running around the acro. Definately not Mysid shrimps since this thing stop moving and start climbing the branches... and it's bigger than a mysid

Anyone ever heard of this? I dipped the coral but didnt see the shrimps or any flatwork. But some polyps are definately eaten.

It could be a harmless commensal shrimp or possibly a pistol shrimp. I think most would consider the pistol shrimp a nuisance.

I have never heard of a shrimp attacking an SPS, except maybe a camel or marble shrimp. I do see my peppermints go after a polyp if it has been target fed or bumped by the ol hand.

Nope not camel shrimp... this thing is transparent, very difficult to see...

Claws are like this except transparent... VERY thin

I will try to catch it and get a picture...

bump.... are camel shrimps / marble shrimps transparent when they're young?

I think this weird shrimp might be a VERY small baby camel.

It attacked my Pink lemonade tonight. Took out 2 polyps and scratch that area pretty good
