I have 2 heniochus, which I received about a month ago. They are voracious eaters, very active and colorful.
One of the fish has what appears to be a thread toward the outside of his right swim fin. I thought at first he had just gotten into some gunk and waited for him to lose it, but it appears to be attached. He's having no trouble moving the fin, it's not torn or shredded, there are no blood streaks, and he's not trying to rub on anything.
Could this be some type of parasitic worm? If so, should I just rub it off his fin? Should I dip him in something?
It's been there for approx a week now, no other symptoms of anything, and no other parasite looking things. I know FW goldfish get a worm that looks similar. Should I just leave it alone?
