patch job questions

I need some advice as to which material to use.

We were given a really nice CPR continuous siphon overflow weir box

but it has a crack in it. What would the best (I know glue is not the right term here) but adhesive/weld material to seal the crack up

I have always wanted to experiment with making something out of acrylic but never done it. But I do know that the material used actually melts the two pieces together more like welding than glueing

if you could also direct me to where to go to get it such as Lowes etc that would be very helpful.

thanks Rich, btw I am pretty sure that I will be able to get a second skimmer like the one you had. I find out about funding from a group on Tuesday
