What type of uni-seal did your skimmer come with? I bought mine used and it had a piece of crap rubber that constantly leaked. I got some new ones to try.

Mine came with the crappy ASM stock ones. Even with the plumbing in them they still don't seal well. Those look like original "uni-seal" brand. Those are great. I have them on my RO/DI barrels also.

I kinda figured that was what it was. Yes, they're uni-seal brand. I was going to do the recirculating mod, but don't have enough room. I'm gonna put it on this weekend. It'll be nice not to have it leaking.

yes - mine even pops off occasionally- much less getting a good seal = cheap stuff- would love to get a better one.

Same here. I'll talk to you after I try it out this weekend. Since I'm not doing the mod, I can part with one. I'll keep the other for a back-up.

I am going to do the recirc mod when I upgrade my tank. I have the G3 on my 75 and it's more than enough stock.

my asm i just got off of Pat aka buck50bmg he put a uni-seal on and i haven't had any trouble with it coming off

Exactly, once you put a uni-seal in it never comes back out. I love those things. I have them on my DIY kalk reactor that sits on my hardwood floors next to my tank and never a drop. It's a good idea to use vegetable oil to insert the pvc through the uni-seal once it's in place.
