Thanks Keith. I've been getting a lot of that lately. :o Hey, I believe the albies are gone for a little while. ;) Did you make it to the Cape last summa?

Paul, I am in the process of designing a similiar acrylic tank. We can compare notes as we go. jim

Sounds good Jim. I'm always open to different ideas. Are you buying or building?

Oh, it's getting close! ;) The floors should be done by New Years, then it's just a couple more weeks of finish stuff. :)

I'm ready for some photos, though. What's your space look like before the tank?

Hi Paul - I love dimensions! What are you planning for lighting? I was thinking of a similar size tank and was considering a 60" ATI powermodule. Looking forward to the progress!

Nice!

This is the only pic I have of my living room. The tank is going where the plasma is on the left and the plasma is going over the fireplace.

I'm going with three Lumenarc IIIs and 250W Aquaconnects. I may or may not use T5 actinics. And I've also got 4 Lunar Sim lights.

I saw one of those ATI modules a couple weeks ago. I don't remember the dimensions of it, but it was in the middle of a 72 x 36 x 31 acrylic tank in the beginning stages. The spead and intensity was very impressive. I put out a ton of light.

Went to the Vineyard and nailed a lot of schoolie stripers. Tried for the Albies in Montauk but they didn't cooperate. Did you fare any better?

Cant wait to see the tank :)

Just wanted to throw this out there. if you put the tank across from the Tv over the fireplace your gona get a glare from the tank lights on the TV. Unless you watch it from an angle.

I didn't make it down to the Vineyard to fish once this past season. But I did manage this in August:

Thanks Rob. I've been thinking about that. The TV will be angled downward. I'm just not sure how much it'll matter. I wanted to put the TV in the back left corner of the pic. But it'd cover the window there. So my wife is not havin' it. :)

The more I look at it, the more I want the TV in that corner.

uh.. you're gonna need a bigger tank.

looks like a great start! i'm not all that tv savvy but i recently replaced my crt with an lcd and i specifically noticed that i no longer see the reflection of my tank in the screen. it's just less reflective, positions are the same. are plasmas the same?

Thanks Jason. Yeah, I don't think there's a tank on this entire site to house that fishy. :D

My plasma has an anti-reflective coating on it, but I don't think that'll make one difference. I'll just have to live with it, which is better than HAVING to get a new TV. ;)

That's some build you have going on. I just subscribed to it. 525 is a beast of a tank. I saw a local reefer's 560 and it's a mawnsta. Good luck with her.

Paul
