PC Bulbs burning out too fast

I modified my Aquapod 24g.

Stock has 2 x 32w PC Bulbs.

I replaced it with 3 x 40w Current USA 17 inch bulbs. I used a Workhorse 5 Ballast.

One bulb has already burned out and ive only had it running for a lil over a week. The bubs run a lil hot also, not sure if this is normal for power compact.

Please give me some advice.

Not normal at all...

Did you add extra fans to the hood?
Did you do the wiring? Double check it all...
I have 132watts of PC in my 24g nano and it works perfect, just replaced all the bulbs after a little over a year of use.

Nope I didn't add any extra fans. Its using the 2 stock fans. Yes I did the wiring, Ill double check it. Thanks.

If anyone has any further advice please help me out, thanks everyone

My PC's run really warm but they shouldn't burn out in a week unless there was a problem with the bulb or somehow its getting shorted out!?!?

I put better fans in mine with an adjustable power supply so you can turn them up or down as needed.
