PC bulbs

What's the difference between a 420nm and 460nm in relation to a actinic 03. I used to have VHO's which the actinic was blue but my PC bulbs say actinic but there purple. I no like

I use the 420 which are a true 03 as compared to a 460 which is bluer...

Just seems that te corals were more flourescent with the URI actinics then the pc actinics meanwhile the pc are 4-96W and the other were 2-110 VHO T-12.

for VHOs the URI actinics are a nice bulb......I'm not familur with 96 watt PCs...I only uses 55/65 watters and the actinic 03s or 420nm bulbs give a nice florescence....the 7100k bulb is a blue bulb also and gives a purple look which some companies sell as actinic....

Thanks for the info. It's a new hood 72" Coralife w/3-250HQI and 4 - 96W PC actinics but I'm considering adding 2 VHO's 03's, one each side.I new I didn't like PC's but I got the hood brand new for $900 and I figured I couldn't build one for that.
