Has anyone ever taken off the plastic covers on the coralife fixtures from the mini fans to have better access for cleaning I was wondering if they snap in or what's an easy way to pop them off without breaking them and also how often are others replace bulbs. and what bulb would you recommend ? ie:other
brands to get more white I have the 96 watts bulbs and there a yr or so old. please and thanks.

Output of PC's starts to decline after about 6 months. Recommended usage is 6-9 months, though most people go 1 year; I know I do. When I do replace them I see a big difference when I have an old bulb and new bulb side-by-side, so that tells me that yes, 6-9 months is really more appropriate for replacement. Current is a well known brand and is my favorite. Their dual actinic is the best actinic available IMO because it combines both 420nm and 460nm wavelengths together in one bulb allowing for different fluorescence than either just 420 or 460 alone.
