Peaceful euthanasia

I have a perc who had brook and got over it after a long battle and finally had to use formalin. He seems to be basically paralyzed from the "waist" down now. He has managed to swim all over the tank and eats (as far as I can tell) pretty well but the last couple weeks he's just been hanging around all the way at the top pointing straight down just kind of dancing in a circle. It seems to me his quality of life isnt that great anymore. So my plan is to get another perc, qt, and then make a switch while euthinizing my first purchased fish :( any good ways to do this?

Tricaine-S (pricy and hard to find) or clove oil (cheap at your local Wholefoods) are the anesthetics that can also be used to put a fish out of its misery. Tricaine-S should preferably be used, but clove oil is acceptable too.

There was a thread about this a short while ago: Humane way to have a fish expire
