Pellet Food Storage Question???

DeathWish302

Clown Hoarder
I received in the mail a killer 30% off coupon from my LFS and bought a 1kg package of Hikari Marine A last month. This is one of my favorite pellet foods, so I thought I would not have a problem using it feeding my few clown pairs and ~250 tomato juvies. I'm starting to think the package may last upwards of 1 year. Can I freeze all but a small portion to maintain freshness with little nutritional loss? I don't have a vacuum sealer, so that thought is out. I've never had to worry about freshness, as most containers are gone by the 2-3 month mark. What are some of the smaller-scale breeders doing to preserve their food, as I know many are buying feeds such as Otohime in larger quantities and require a means to slow nutritional loss.

Thanks!

It's a kicker when you get a good deal and don't use it all. Since I only feed pellet 25% of the time, 2+lbs will last a LONG TIME too.

Some foods are best kept in the fridg & some are not. I asked that same question to Reed about otohime, & they said not to refridgerate it, but keep it in a dry ,cool place.
