Pellet Food

I decided to try pellets to add some variety for my fish. I went with New Life Spectrum Marine Fish Formula. I was wondering what everyone uses to soak their pellets before feeding to make them more appealing or just to add vitamins. Thanks in advance!

I was told by the manufacturer of NLS pellets to not soak them in anything. I just use tap water,

I just drop mine in as well. If your fish aren't taking to them, you could try finicky fish formula. That worked well for me! All of my fish love these pellets except my one anthias.

Me too. I use one of those feeding stations under my auto feeder to let the pellets sink rather than get swept over the overflow.

Exactly what I do, it works very well. My fish all start hovering right below the station ready to chow down as soon as they hear the motor start to whir, or if I walk up to the front of the tank.

I used to soak my pellets in a shot glass with a mysis cube, but that was just to get the fish that would eat mysis and not pellets weaned over onto pellets. Once everyone got onto pellets well, I stopped the soak.

We feed them to our OSFF daily in addition to their normal feedings...they love the stuff.

I sometimes soak with Selcon, garlic, or tank water to soften the pellets up so that they more readily sink (I'm too lazy to turn off my return pump each time I feed). The Selcon and garlic are not necessary, but I have a surplus of each that I want to use up before they "expire."
