Pellet Reactor

I just set up my BRS pellets in a large via aqua reactor that I already owned. I am running into the problem that after about a day, a dead spot forms and there's not tumbling in a section. I have used two different pumps(a maxi jet 1200, and a 400 gph via aqua pump). Both produce a hard boil(which I can slow with a valve) but after 24-48 hours I get a dead spot. Approximately 80% of the pellets continue to tumble, the reactor has been up for a week. Is this normal and acceptable or should I get a designed pellet reactor.

If I should get a reactor, which one? I am currently running 1 1/2 cups which will eventually be 3 cups?

I bought the octopus 140 reactor and I still get a dead spot unless I really pump a lot of water through them. I am just going to watch it for the next month and see w hat happens. I am using the TLF pellets if it matters.

not cool, I was thinking the Octopus reactors where the answer...shoot. How are you supposed to have a "slow boil" and no dead spot????
