Peppermint Angel

The fact that I am a college student and never have had this much money before, and the fact that I have never seen this fish for sale makes this almost surreal. Even if I was offered the fish I couldn't accept it because I wouldn't feel prepared to sustain it. I hope whoever gets this fish is completely ready to take care of it. Also it would be so awesome if whoever gets it is a RC member and posts updates of it. I really want to see how this fish will be packed :)

It is crazy to think someone in the US will have this fish. I vote someone in Florida or Chicago buys this fish so I have a chance at seeing it...

i hope its within a 4 hour drive of CT. even if they won't let me in to see it i will be peeking through there windows with a camera LOL.

Sadly, outside my price range, & close to one year's salary. However, P. boylei in the US? AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME.
This news rocks.
You don't already have it, do you John. Something in my head just says I'll see one in your possesion soon.
Well, at least we'll get more pictures of them!

10 grand but another 500$ a month to keep it cold with a chiller! But 10 grand on a fish i guess you should be able to afford 500$/month :)

Should be interesting to see the price range. Its about time they hit the states again!

when it comes to the states is t going to DD? and basements are fine too. i have a sledge hammer and i can make my own window. ;) LOL. we should give this fish a welcoming party!

I'll let Liveaquaria and Kevin unfold the details as they go public... and I won't mention details, but I will say that despite the common notion, the good old USA has first rights to this fish... :)

There are plenty of aquarists with the means and desire to spend that type of coin, but few that can couple it with the technical skill and ability and desire to give this fish the home that it needs...

I don't see any reason why information about this fish cannot be made available if one knows about it; it is not like it is going to make the fish any more obtainable to a certain person as it is going to show up on DD anyway and most won't be able to afford it.

Sorry John, this was actually tongue-in-cheek, just showing the ridiculousness of such a statement... the peppermint angel is truly a unique fish (the closest fish 'like' it, a hogfish, doesn't resemble one at all)... I think we're all excited to see this fish hit the U.S.

No worries bud... don't apologize! It's all good!:celeb1:

If I did, you would not see me posting in this thread... that's for sure! Seeing this fish next to my car key would be something!

The story will be told in time, when it is complete, and it will be amazing... this next year will bring many happy faces to angelfish lovers!

This will be awesome to see! I'm curious to see the price and if it goes fast, that's a dream fish for some people. Thumbs up to LiveAquaria and Kevin for getting one to the US. I assume it will be several months before up for sale?

Don't count your chickens!

Its quotes like this that cause me to hold out for captive raised specimens

That comment was aside from the possibility of Frank coming back... :)

The next thing you guys are going to tell me that a pair of Genicanthus personatus are going to be available :D
