Peppermint Died

I know these are cheap and some people don't like them but we really liked our peppermint shrimp and my kids are quite sad he died. My wife noticed a fish picking at something on the bottom of the tank and there he was upside down. He was one of our first additions and he always came out and ate out of my hand. He did molt about 4 days ago but seemed to be doing fine so I don't know why he went. Before I could even get him out though my red serpent start came out from under his rock and grabbed him. Checked all my parameters and everything is in check, my cleaner is still doing his thing. Are peppermints not as hardy or should I have been feeding it anything other then frozen Mysis, brine, pellets and flakes?

That sounds like a good diet for a peppermint. Brine is really just a treat, but the mysis makes up for the low nutrients.
What lives in the tank with it? Some sort of fish could have killed it.
Are there any larger shrimp in there? They can be aggressive.

1.024 salinity, 8.2 ph, 78°, NH3 0, NO2 0, NO3 0, there's 2 small percula clowns, 3 chromis, firefish, neon goby, yellow tang, cleaner shrimp that was about the about the same size, some snails and hermit crabs.

I've never dosed anything or used any medications, guess it was his time. Will have to get a couple more for the kids
