I've been dealing with an uncontrollable amount of aptasia in my biocube 14 and no amount of kalk paste would rid it of it. I considered berghias but didn't want to pay the astronomical shipping prices, so I finally caved and bought three peppermint shrimp from Aquarium Fanatics.

Its been one week now and my 14 gallon went from literally hundreds of them to ZERO. I literally can not find one whatsoever!! :D

Yep, mine ate them overnight. When I would turn the lights off, I would see him sitting over one, just munching away.

Doesn't it feel nice without them? :)

I've always heard to go with trios. I had one before and it did nothing. Also, supposedly the wild caught one's are more likely to eat aptasia.

All you need is one, that will do it.

All I had was one peppermint, and he went to town/dinner every night until they were gone.

Where did you get the peppermint...I bought like 6 and only found 1 that survived, but they haven't eaten crap...

I have had 7 or 8 in my 120g for over 2 months now and they have yet to eat the 2 aptasias in the tank. They are just now up to an inch and a half so I was wondering if the small ones don't want to eat/get stung by the little buggers. They are not camelback shrimp either.

Aquarium fanatics off Kirkman.

Maybe I'm having good luck because I feed my tank very lightly and so they had no choice but to go after the aptasia that was everywhere.

Ian, can you post a pic or something. when i ask for peppermint shrimp, either they don't give me peppermint, but instead they give me the other kind that look similar, or the ones i get don't touch the stuff!
