Peppermint shrimp attacking bubble anemone?

I just picked up the bubble anemone a month ago, about two weeks ago it found a spot beneath a rock and a peppermint shrimp is hanging out right next to him. Well the bubble is not doing very well since and is semi deflated and lost a lot of it's white tips. Is it possible that the shrimp is stressing him out, and should I remove the shrimp?

They can be nippier than Jack Russell terriers. If possible, isolate the shrimp in your sump or give it away. However, the problems with your anemone may still be unrelated to the shrimp, depending on lighting and tank parameters.

Interesting have a BTA and a peppermint that's now about 2", the peppermint never goes near....are you feeding your nem.....if so....has he learned to wait?

Well if it can eat aiptasia anemone, it can also eat other anemones. That s why pm shrimps are a hit or miss when it comes to corals and anemones.

I have a ton of corals in my DT, if my PM shrimp touches anything, he goes on my banned list as well....thanks for the tip

He can have a nice career in the sump. You just cannot re-educate an invert that has found a food source, or thinks it has.

No sump, no choice.
The good news ( for him ) is I have kept PM's for more than 25 years and never yet ever had a problem....that's why I was so surprised....learn something new in the hobby every day.

IME, that is what they do. With me once they got done eating up all the aiptasia, they started eating on my corals, especially LPS and anemones.

Meh, are you feeding the nem? I would suspect the shrimp removing food from the nems mouth and thus slowly starving the nem. I bet the nem is shrinking because it's hungry before I would blame the shrimp. Plus, you can just keep an eye on the shrimp. Likely he will come out at night so check then and see if he is truly harming your nem. Remember they will crawl all over everything and pick things off so make sure he's eating it and not just cleaning it.

I understood that Nems, as a photosynethic inhabitant does not require any feeding at all to thrive. I have one that's going on 3 years, a BTA, never feed him once.
