Peppermint Shrimp is a thief

At least one is a real pain to my BTA already. Have seen it pull food from deep in its gut, hours after being fed.

What could I do to prevent this? I have noticed other shrimp folowing suit, but one peppermint is the real theif..

If I were to get clowns to host will they keep the shrimp away? Any other solution?

Get rid of this one shrimp? Simplest solution to me, since you can never be certain than added clown fish will host in your anemone

Hmmm, so far I have liked these guys. Totally killed off the aptasia I had.

But I will say, while watching it happen I wanted to smash the guy.

I might just find a way to make sure food is available the nights I feed the BTA. Maybe a clip with a gel cube of Formula one.

I do feed to distact the shrimp, but the problem is when they want a midnight snack 5 hours later and can smell the silverside in the BTA I think.

Am I correct in assuming that a hosted clown would keep any shrimp away?

Oddly, last night was the first time my little clown attacked my hand. He has some spunk. I will be adding another clown, and I am hoping I get lucky and improve my chances of hosting.

Are you sure your pepperment is stealing food 5 hours later. I had a problem originally with my pepperment stealing food from my BTA. Since then I just feed the shrimp first, then the BTA. Have had no problems first.

I have cleaner shrimp in my tanks and they can be thieves to, but what I do is give them there own silverside fish, part of one anyway.
That keeps them busy for many hours in there cave. Then feed the anemone.
A full shrimp is a happy shrimp
