Well I finally had a chance to stop by and talk to Jim last weekend and pick up some true Caribbean peppermints. It seems they have settled in well now, and are out and about early morning and late night. I hope this works I have no other ideas left to rid the aquarium of the pests.

Thanks JIM!
Ron

I have heard several people talk about "true Peppermints" What species is the other shrimp that is labeled at many places as peppermint? How can I look at my peps in my tank to distinguish which type I own? thanks inadvance for info!

"True peppermints" lysmata wurdemani are natives of the Atlantic reef.

Camel shrimp rhynchocinetes durbanensis, from the indo-pacific, are sometimes mislabeled as peppermints.
"Also known as the Humpback or Candy Shrimp, they are generally tolerant of others of their species in the same aquarium. Brighter and more colorful than its Peppermint Shrimp cousin" from this link.
IME the surest way to tell which shrimp you have is knowing it's collection source ie the Caribbean.

Frags are looking great and thanks again for those!
I'll let you know if there is any spawning activity in the pocilliopora as well.

For those who don't know you really need to drop by Berts and take a look at his pocilliopora, it's not hard to find as it is literally everywhere in the tank since it spawned again earlier this year.
That tank is looking incredible BTW! I should have some updated pics of the new one here for you soon.
