Perc not paring (w/ pic)

Two months ago, I introduced a smaller true perc in my tank hoping it would pair with my larger true perc that was being hosted by a haddoni. After some initial aggression, the clowns quickly tolerated each other. The newer, smaller perc, never dove into the carpet with the bigger perc. He decided to be host to an orange riccordia. They tolerate and swim together, but I don't think they have "paired". What do others think, and is there anything I can do to help them pair?

I took a picture of both fish with their hosts.

They may develop a closer relationship, especially as they mature.
There were times when I was a little concerned when my male was in another host now and then.
Now they are inseperable.
They aren't fighting, so that would be a pretty good sign.

They do not sleep together. The bigger perc (female) sleeps in the carpet, the smaller perc (male) sleeps next to the riccordea in the clam shell.

They are not fighting at all, so it may be a maturity thing. I will be patient and hopefully post good news when it happens! Thank you all for your input!!!

Do they sleep together? If they were both female the bigger one would have let you know by now.
