percula hosting rock nem?

I would go with something else although false percs will even host corals without an alternative. I have a false perc hosting an atlantic carpet. It's not supposed to do that, but she does.

Yes, rock anemones (Epicystis crucifer) do have a powerful sting and I would advise you against that anemone if you are looking for a host. The hardiest, and likely least expensive of the anemones that would probably host your ocellaris, is the green BTA.

You said you wanted something cheap, usually rose BTA's are not cheap. It's the same species as the green BTA, just a different color morph.

It depends on you LFS. Theres some softball size(medium) ones at a LFS close to me and it goes for 80 bucks. The same price as a large green BTA. Some range from 80 and some can go up to 120.

I have a rock nem and one on my baby clowns which was hosting in a GBTA went for a close look and as soon as feelers touched it the clown took off like it had been stung and won't even go back to the GBTA now. So even if the clown wants to host a rock nem, the nem might not let it. On a side note, I really like my rock nem. They can eat a huge meal for their little size.

do rock nems require alot of light like the otherones? and how big do they get? cause i have a small tank that i would like to get one for.

They need good light. In a small tank you could be fine with power compact lighting. You will need more than just normal output flourescents. I have read of them getting to something like 8 inches. That would be a large one- usually they grow to a diameter of 5 or 6 inches across.

ooh ok

posibly for the 2.5 of the 5.5 gallon im not sure if im going to do it yet. but i need a nem for the 29 gallon for the clown
