Percula Question

My percula has some small black spots on his body near his tail. They've kinda come and gone. I thought it could be bruising from a coral sting but I only have one stinging coral (frogspawn) and he doesn't really hang out close enough to it to get stung I don't think. Is this anything to be worried about?

It most likely is coral sting. What corals do they hang around? Got any Zoas?

Alrighty, Ill try to do the best run down of corals in our tank as I can....

-Frogspawn
-Pink and a green/purple hammer
-6-7 types of zoas/palys
-A couple mushrooms
-Duncan
-GSP
-A few sps
-Candy Cane

I guess reading back through there there could be a couple that are stinging him. Is the stinging anything to be too concerned about?

thought we lost our percula this morning. wasn't swimming around in the display, wasn't on the floor. wasn't immediately visible in the back compartments of our BC. He was under the carbon bag in the third chamber in the back. It was quite the ordeal to get him out of there

wow, is he swimming ok? also is he eating? i wonder if there is something attacking him in the tank and he's trying to get out. Take a photo if you can, that would probably determine if its something other than a coral sting.

Your hammer is also part of the Euphyllia family (Torch,Frogspawn and hammer) that can sting your Clown. I've seen numerous clowns host frogspawn and hammer corals. The black spots may be the clown rebuilding his natural "slime coating" that allows itself to hang out in anenomes.

He's swimming fine. He's not swimming as much but he swims fine when he does. He ate both times I fed today. He's been fine up until now.

He's definitely been chilling in the hammers/frogspawn the most. However our mandarin sits right under our frogspawn when we feed to eat and he doesn't seem to be at all affected. Are they not as sensitive to stings?

He many not be actually be touching the hammer/frogspawn. Keep in mind to keep those (Euphyllia) as far away from each other as possible.
