Percula VS Powder Blue

Having trouble with my powder blue (3-4 in.) and percula (large/ 3 in.) squaring off. Powder blue was added about a month ago and the percula about 2 weeks ago. Anybody else have similar trouble between a particular clownfish and powder blue? Also, any ideas on how to help make peace? Mixed reef tank of 120 gallons. Thanks

Thats a tough one, Tangs can be territorial but not normally towards fish other than other tangs or similar shaped fish. You can try re-aquascaping, moving the problem starter fish out of the tank for a day and re-introducing, or removing one of the fish permanantly.

You could also try to give the clown an anemone, and see if that helps, the clown may still be defensive but if the powderblue is the aggressor, the clown would have a place to hide.

If is been two weeks and they are still fighting, then aquascaping may be your only option if you want to keep them together.

Thanks for the replies. The percula in question is currently hosting a RBTA along with another small male percula. The powder blue and female percula(3") have still been "chesting-up" to one another but seems to have settled down slightly over the last couple days. Been together in the tank now for about 3 weeks. Mainly wondering if anyone else has experienced a percula and powder blue squaring off ?
