Likely not for long. Once a dominant pair is established, the other two will probably disappear one at a time. It might work out, but generally these arrangements end badly.

They'll be fine without an anemone. Which anemone suits you best varies based on your system, experience, and other inhabitants.
 
You could get lucky and place 2 anemones one on each end of the tank and hope they will pair up and host them respectivealy. Once they claim the anemones the distance between the 2 could keep them happy as they don't tend to venture too far from their nems
 
It's possible, but while they don't often venture from the anemones, the territory they defend can still be quite expansive.

There are also no guarantees that they will split into two pairs, or that both pairs won't end up wanting the same side of the tank.
 
there's no nem in my tank...they've been like this for ~2 weeks now...yeah, i know that's not long enough to validate this as something that's possible of being done or anything but so far so good.

FYI...the 3rd clown was in a breeder net for ~2 weeks prior as well...so if you include that in, it's ~1 month.
 
Might work, but still no guarantee that they'll be happy with the territory they have once they are paired. Clownfish tend to be very aggressive towards other clowns when paired off, and I've generally seen it recommended that more than one pair not be kept in a tank smaller than 300g.

As soon as you remove that divider, the whole tank is fair game.
 
Ok then I need to put the other two in another tank soon then ,I just need it to stay until I get the other tank setup
 
a situation similar to mine might work (a pair + 1 extra clown)...2 pairs of clowns is different...the pairs might get territorial...although let me know what you ended up doing...i was going to try that as well but my 4th one died due to stress from shipping...

this is true, it takes longer than a couple of weeks for juvenile's to reassign and i really wouldn't recommend waiting to see what happens. you will end up with one female, one male and thats it.

And that would be an absolute shame, especially considering how much you probably paid for those Picassos.
