PET PEEVES....list them here

When no one answers a post after I spent countless hours helping others with even less experience than me..... Or when a few people reply needing more information about the original post, then you give all the requested info.... Only to never hear from them again....

lol fleming3, sometimes i read those names and its like, well where in the world did that name come from???? or when someones "whamin watermelons" look EXACTLY like my generic green and orange zoas but apparantle mine are a tenth of the price. really, really?????? i also dont understand where "Armor of god" came from. i would like to see some armor that god wore. i really dont think he ever wore pinkish red armor with tan/gray trim.

yep thats ones funny, todays hero tomorrow zero lol

When i can't find the second part of my magfloat and the first half is in the aquarium. Usually after some children visit.

When kids are running around with glass cleaner in one hand and start tapping on the glass which in turn knocks my mag float on top of my Zeus' purple fire armor piercing sword of moses zoas. Come on, they are like one of a kind. Right?????

Lots of folks have talked about having children visit and monkey with their Mag Floats. These things are a draw, and kids are gonna play with them.

Take 'em out when there's any risk of kids being around your tank.

They're kids, we're grown-ups, we keep things safe, that's what we do, right? One stray grain of sand and we've a mess.... and it's easily prevented.

Now, fingerprints and glass? Can't help with that one. My father-in-law is more likely to thump on my glass than any of my daughter's friends are.

Blurry pictures.. $100 digital camera? What yah smokin? I take pics with my Blackberry.. Who needs a tripod and $100 digital camera when you have my shaky arm and a blackberry with a bunch of build up around the lens, and it has the auto focus of a a one armed, one eyed ninja... Are you complaining about my pics. :)

I happen to agree with you and offer no excuse!

It's been said.... People who ask for advice get all the advice and then do the opposite becasue one person said it was okay to do.

I hate when I come home and my clownfish are all high and there are McDonalds wrappers everywhere. It's like - dude at least call me and ask me if I want something, dang!

:lolspin:

My biggest pet peeve is the myth that replacing bioballs with liverock rubble is better. Sure, remove something that sits and collects nitrates to replace them with something that sits and collects nitrates.

Someone (or their disciples) saying they are the "owner" of a coral. Then trying to fetch a gazillion dollars for a microscopic frag. Last I checked, all corals came from the ocean.

AMEN! Also, I've come to the conclusion there is no such thing as a silent overflow, silent this or that period. Just make your own mind up and bite the bullet. i really have too many pet peeves to list...

sugar sized sand and people TRYING to find my magfloat that I've hidden behind the tank. :furious:

Here's one. I had just put a bunch of coral in and I'm showing someone the tank and they say

"Ooooohh, wow, what is that!"

"um, that's hair algae"

"Ooooo, that's cool!
