Petco carpet anemone

I think this Petco Haddoni carpet and my Gigantea carpets were bought from local Petco, not mail order. I got a thread on my there Gigantea Carpets from Petco sometime ago.

Minh, i used to have a pair of cinnamon clowns that hosted a rose BTA. I got rid of the clowns and got a pair of snowflake ocellaris. I still have the rose bta, its actually the same one I sent you pictures of about 6-8 months ago, but the snowflakes have zero interest in it. I am looking to buy a carpet nem but have not found the color combo I want yet. Im hoping for one that is red with blue if I can find it but I will settle for all red or all blue if I cant. Anyhow, i was curious what your opinion on what type of carpet you would get? For example haddoni, mertens, gigantea etc etc. perhaps you could share what your favorite type is and also what type would best suit a bonded pair of adult snowflakes in a 125 gallon reef tank

Gigantea is the natural host of Ocellaris and Percula. My Ocellaris and Percula have no problem with Haddoni. I think Mertensii are also natural host of both but I have never keep a Mertensii.
Color wise, nothing beat a nice color Haddoni. While color in a Gigantea may be a little less intense, Gigantea, IMO, is the best looking anemone. May be this is because I took me sooooo looooong to be able to keep a Gigantea.

I would get either H. magnifica (also a natural host of Ocellaris), Gigantea. Magnifica is a safe anemone in a reef tank. It will not eat your fish. Gigantea is a fish eater just like Haddoni. Haddoni is OK too I guess. Just get the nicest, anemone that you can find of there three species.

The local Petcos here in Chattanooga don't carry any saltwater fish or invertebrates, so if i want to get something through them, it has to be mail order, but after ready some posts about checking it our before i buy, i am again hesitant, lol.

Hold interviews and make sure you call references. There is nothing wrong with calling a reference back.

I have a ritteri Haddoni LTA and BTA all in a 180.
I am spinning up a 120 with common sump to house a gig.

So... yeah... get the one that suits the care and inhabitants you already have.
