Been in the reef game for about 6 years. My current 42 gallon set-up is 4+ years old and doing great. Tank is totally dialed in - I've got colonies the size of volleyballs.
So my daughter (9) has a friend with a little betta fish in her room. My daughter tells me she wants one. I try to talk her into a little clownfish tank. Nope - she wants her own thing. Clownfish are MY thing.
We go to Petco to find a bowl. Before I know it, I'm walking out with a (cool) little 2.5g tank with a tiny filter and LED, red gravel, tiny heater, volcano, Tiki head, fake plants, water conditioner, pellets. And a gorgeous blue betta (they really are pretty fish!). Cost me about $100.
I was tempted to start a sweet RC build thread with drawings, schematics, photos and video....except we were done in 3 minutes.
The things we do for our kids. Wish me luck......
