Hi all i saw a 6 to 10inch mag for $90 with 30% off, from what could tell it was opening fine undee their lights it might be tan n green or yellow tips. Do you you guys think i should a chance on it? My tank is 110g (48x18x30) using 48inch 320 watt maxspect razor. I am able to keep btas n LTA fine. I really thinking going early n pick it up. Let me know what you guys think?Thanks..

Do you have pictures? I saw gigs the other day in Petco. They are all totally bleached. Just be careful.

If it really looks like that I would get it. It looks healthy at least based on the picture estimation. I got my bta from petco. It's nice and healthy. Just make sure no bleach, no short tentacles, no weird shape and no foot damage.

Ok thanks, i wil inspect it more tomorrow n see how its doing, i think he came in today, their shipments usually comes in on thursday or friday.

If it looks healthy, that's a good price for it. Regardless, get treatment tanks with cipro ready. There's no way to guarantee it'll be fine after you bring it home.

I agree on assuming it will need cipro, as most do regardless of where they come from, I would get it, I certainly do not avoid things just because they come from Petco.

Ok guys got him for $67.. looks to be around 10 to 12inces, its my first mag. I didnt see any damage on the foot n the mouth looks tight to me. Let me know if he looks ok to you guys? Hope he does good.

Looks nice! Maybe put him in the treatment tank and keep a close eye on it for a couple hours. Then it'll be easy to start dosing cipro rather than pulling it out of the display tank.

I've heard that infections can also help move bacteria into an established tank, so best make sure it's 100% good before going into the DT.

Yes that looks good, but it is still best to keep isolated in QT and observe for at least a couple/few days, it's the bacterial infection that you are watching for, and that can take a couple light cycles to see signs of that, and yes, bacterial infections can be spread to other nems in display, so I'd avoid that possibility.

I would not suggest to put different anemones in the same tank unless it has plenty if their own space. But we never know how they act, maybe they will be fine? But definitely it's risky.

As long as they do not touch should be fine, but again I would not put it in display until you have observed it, bacterial infections are super common in mags, best guess 80-90% of newly shipped mags probably need treatment, and you won't always know right away, it takes a bit sometimes before you see tentacle deflation, the telltale sign, and that will be on and off at first.

Lots of people, myself included have bought mags that looked great for a couple days and then suddenly deflation occurs, and it can pass that to other nems.

Looks very nice! Beautiful anemone! Yes they like flows. Your btas looks good too!
