Best of luck to you!

thanks

I' still got some stuff to pick up so not sure if I'll get started this weekend or not

on a seperate note
thought this was cute picture - a hermit decided to get a better view of things and climbed this tort frag right after the Thu night Revive dip

That's a great pic, Pete :) He must like the pine-sol fresh scent!

hehe - that stuff does smell like pine sol

it was one of those times I was walking by the tank, saw the crab and thought I got to get a picture of that.

I also grabbed a nice picture of the mother colony
tort.jpg

and got a nice one of this unknown acro
unkaro.jpg

this one has some minor AEFW bites on one side, there is an acro crab that lives it it and he seems to keep the AEFW's cleaned off most of it.

As I'm getting some stuff together and set up for dealing with the AEFW's I want to compile a list of other things I could do to improve my tank while the acro's are out. With the acro's and some live rock out it will be a lot easier to access the whole tank out it will be, so any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated.

here is my starting list

- do the 3 days lights out thing
- clean up loose stuff that has accumulated on the bottom like coral pieces, snail shells, etc
- prune the acros of dead branches etc
- remount as needing
- remove some rocks and drill holes for future coral mounts
- kill of stray shrooms etc that were otherwise hard to get to

Sounds like you're never going back to work again. :D

how true - how true

not sure how much I can actually get done. So right now it's kind a of a wish list with a start as soon as posible and finish before say mid June as we have a lot of family coming in and I need to turn our dinning room back over to my wife. I'd also like to get that back side framed out and finished before then

But as long as I'll have some corals out I may a well work up the wish list, prioritise it, and hope to take advantage of any thing I can afford the time and money to get done. Heck, I may even consider a work party and offer frags, hamburgers and beer for those that help. One thing for sure; I can't turn it into a 14 day project

Not ot mention, I really want to get; the fish rooms re-organised, electrical organized, more fans installed, the Kalc reactor hooked up and RO/DI storage automated.

And for some crazy reason, all of these very important priorities are'nt even on the bottom of my wife generated 'honey do' list :rolleye1:

Maybe I should have a brief talk with her. :D

Ha - I better get a couple things done on her list first

I got my solenoid valves in the mail today. I ordered 5 through an industrial valve supply company. They are really set up to do business with Purchase Orders so they didn’t do Paypal, but did take major credit cards. Shipping and handling was very reasonable as was the base cost of the valves. Total they came to just over $20 a piece. If you order this way, you’ll need to know exactly your needs are as these come in various sizes, trim, voltage, normal off position (open or close) number of ports etc.

these are plastic body, stainless trim, 110VAC, normally closed 1/4" FPT, with wired leads (not pins)

I haven’t had a chance to try them out but I’m pretty sure they will work out great for my Kalc reactor and automating my RO/DI top off reservoir.

I got my parts in from Autotopoff.com today. Now I just need to buy a boatload of tubing. With these parts, the tubing and a couple solenoids, I'll be ready to hook up my RO/DI so it will automatically fill my reservoir.

this set up has a lower on switch and two upper off switches (the second one acts as a backup). These will control a pair of solenoids that will sense low water level and turn on the RO/DI. Once filled the unit will shut back off. As another backup I may put the hole thing on a timer.

In the future, I’ll also work in a water change station, but for now I’ll be happy not to have to bucket brigade in water every two days. :)

I love looking at your tank. All those huge happy corals. My tank is very jealous. ;)

talk about jealous, who just got a premo efflo frag

you know I have the perfect spot for that = I honestly don't think you have the room

I found a spot, and the polyps are out swaying in the flow. Soooo pretty. :D I had to compete with you somehow!

How come you didn't sneak in a few pieces for yourself as I suggested? Nothing appeal to you?

THE BEAST

THE BEAST

Caught the beast out tonight. He usually hides in a cave during the day with his collection of nori clips

He was probably out prowling for a snail

this guy is going on 9 years in an aquarium
