we think alike

I was thinking about mounting a plastic sink drain to the tray and diverting it to the sump or a bucket with a moisture detector/alarm of some sort.

Repeat after me: I am not obsessive compulsive. I am not obsessive compulsive. I am not obsessive compulsive. I am not obsessive compulsive. I am not obsessive compulsive....

That's actually really nice!

Had I known, I would have ordered a few 1/4" disconnects to make it easier to remove the reactor. Sooner or later I'm going to have to add media to it.

Thanks for the order, hopefully that and your regulator make it here by this weekend.

sorry I should have called to see if you were interested about the disconnect shut offs

I don't have a clue when the regulator will be here. I last heard it was a 10 day back order, and I suspect it will be shipped directly so it may just show up. It would be nice if everything was in this Friday so I could get the thing running.

I'll also be looking for a place to buy some bulk media.

Servo dropped by a couple hours ago to take a look at my setup. You should see some of the goodies he left, these frags are gorgeous. I really owe him one!

Thanks Pete. I've always wanted one of those. I get all my best frags when you finish working in your tank.

Did you get a mantis, Jay?

I told Ryan you would never let him live that one down. I did mention that I thought I could hear a clicking noise coming from the frag box.

My question to the other guys in this thread: Is there a difference between the different types of media? Do some brands contain more phosphate than others?

Stuck on a plane in atlanta

First off it"s been a long week. Then our plane is two hours late just getting in. Then after they load the plane full and close the door the pilot tells us we can"t take off. For at least two hours
Arrggg

Well - better safe then sorry as they say

We pulled away from the gate and were first in line for the next take off and the pilot gets on and says the FAA just postponed us another 45 minutes so now we are just driving around the airport killing time ---almost funny

Thanks Marc

not the worse flight I've been on but I was tired to start with, got home at midnight

I am selling frags thyis weekend as a fund raiser for my daughter. I was to cutting 2 pieces of my Leng Sy with a knife (found it's a good way to take frangs from monte plates) when the whole thing comes loose. I ended up with 5 frags, no biggy people want this so just more money for the fund raiser. So, as I was blindly fishing out the frags, my wife was acting as my eyes on the front side of the tank.

Some how in the process the large Chips Acro fell over and when I went to set it back in place the Blob started to fall forward. I guess the weight from growth made the whole set of corals precariously balanced, and the slight movement sent them both almost over the edge.

So here I am with my arm in the tank up to my arm pit holding both corals with one hand trying to get them to stabilize without breaking or dropping them. After 4-5 attempts, I think they are stable enough, so out came the chips. The problem was the Chips was holding down the back side of the Blob so it was trying to teter off the ledge when the Chips was moved.

After the Chips was out I shoved the Blob back on the rock shelf rock a bit further. I had to move the Leng Sy and an Orange monte plate over a bit to do so. With the Blob and Leng Sy repositioned back goes the Chips Acro. Fortunately no major breaks. The whole time my wife is on the other side of the tank in a state of near panic (I'm hearing all kinds of; "Oh No's", "look out" etc) just waiting for something to crash and break into 50 pieces.

And so ended another adventure in the life of a reef nut.

Sorry to hear about your flight Pete, I hope they were at least serving alcohol.

I'll drop by sometime this weekend.

I was dusting off the acros (blowing detritus off) and remembered I forgot to feed the fish tonight so I gave them some artic pods ( a treat for them)

Then I noticed the hammer with its sweepers in hyper extension mode

back to finish up my water change, then back to Georgia in the morning

My hammer coral keeps on picking fights with one of my bubble tip anemones.

It loses. You think it would quit by now.

I found some stinking AEFW's on a couple corals today, guess it's back to weekly dips and blasting with water

I hadn't seen any in months so I got away from the routine
