Do you guys think I would be happier with kalk and if so would I need to supplement with two part ? I don't know off hand I'm just saying I would need kalk with two part because of what the different you tube videos say that kalk is not enough for sps
What is your Ca? Alk of 7-8 is fine. Don't chase your pH around. 7.8-8.2 is fine as well. if you have a heavy loaded SPS tank, your uptake can be heavy. Has something happened in the tank? if nothing changed, don't chase the numbers too much!!!!
here is a link. I have talked to a lot of very knowledgeable people about this and you don't need to have the visible algae issues that are in this article. they say there are 100's of variety of Dinos and some are hard to spot but the PH drop is a tell for sure. but first double check the ph with another measuring device.
if your corals are all doing good. if it was me I wouldn't do anything about it. don't fix whats not broken
I have a similar issue actually. I was using Kent's buffer to raise it and it'd raise it for a day and be back down in the am. It was raising my salinity too at the same time. :/
I have a skimmer on my 29g biocube, and I even stuck an air stone in chamber 1 too to help try to aerate the water.

For the air stone to raise ph because the house has high Co2 levels you would have to put the pump outside in the fresh air to have that help raise the ph in your tank
Totally makes sense. :/ I guess when I get my chiller in and can keep the tank a stable temp I'll open the doors and get a fresh breeze coming through the house.
