PH and Color question

Hey guys,

All of my sps are doing really well and really growing nicely and rather quickly, they do have some great colors in them , however i feel that im missing the deeper purples and getting more shades of brown. Dont get me wrong i do have some popping purples in my caps and some sps but i feel they should be much brighter. And some areas that are brown shuld be purple. My queston, does Ph have a color effect on my corals? i run low since my tank is in my basement and i have no outside air comng in the house right now since its below freezing everyday. I do have PH buffer but im afraid to use it snce evrything looks so good(besides color) IS it because im not runing actinic supplementation?

Levels.

S.g : 1.025
Mag: 1290
Ca: 470
Kh: 8.9
Ph: 7.77 (night) 7.99(day)

Ammonia: 0

Lighting: 3x400 Watt Xm 20K on blueline ballasts runtime 12-8

Thanks!!

ph buffer is a no no .Low ph due to high CO2 in the home in the winter months has little or no effect on color or health in my observations over the years.Chasing PH to get the perfect # will sometimes lead to fluctuating alk which will "for sure"have an effect on color and health.Keep up on your regular maintenance and concentrate on keeping nutrients low and the big 3(alk,cal and mg) stable and your quest for better colors will be achieved.

Thanks Dan,

I was talking to ted about it as well and i didnt want to mess with any addatives since my corals are all very healthy , growing very quickly, and my numbers are dead on according to salifert.
