ph probes

it is time for me to replace my ph probes in my system.
considering the tunze probes
how do the pH-electrode 7070.10 probes compare to the
the pin point probes(accuracy lifespan, etc, etc.),
as i need three probes.

thanks
archie

The pinpoint probe is a plastic gel electrode if I am not mistaken. We use a glass platinum electrode. With good care and good luck this electrode can last 3 years, it can be drained and refilled with electrolyte to recharge it periodically. Whether or not it is worth it depends on your meter. If you are only measuring to the tenths place it probably makes little sense but if you are going for greater accuracy and measure to the hundreths place it is worth while. The main draw back is they are glass so they are fragile, also if submerged too deep water can enter the fill port and it has to be recharged.

thanks for info on probes(going to be a tough call on which one to use).
btw, broke down and bought a wavebox, pretty impressive.
waves not to agressive in a 8 foot long as compared to my partner who has one in a 6 foot long tank.
but with a second wave box, just awesome in my 8 foot long tank.
do i need to mail you my 7240.26 to convert to a 7240.27?
or purchase parts to do myself.

thanks archie

They cannot be converted, you would have to buy the new driver 7240.27, it comes with the little oring dampner. They cost about $92. The board is actually a different layout.
