PH too high.

WOw- anybody have too high PH- just tested and it is 8.6 with a red sea kit. Do not know how to adjust ph down. Help please. ONE week ago test was good. Will read , but thought someone would beable to give me a clue.

i have heard the red sea tests can be off, but have no use with them myself. Maybe try testing again to make sure...

Did retest- but my hospital tank aslo read as 8.6 - so it might be the test kits. Will purchase new kit ( salifert) today. Archaeoreefer- the link you gave did not work for me.

Can the type of sea salt affect your ph?

well- will be thowing the red sea test kit away. Salifert kit read at between 8.1 and 8.3 - which makes much more sence. Glad I did not panic. thanks for the help people.
