Phew, fish are safe and lucky day

Well after freaking out and having a bad day for a bit yesterday. I ended up waking up this am much happier.
Quick story goes....yesterday I noticed my earlei wrasse was gone:( my tank is completely covered yet still i checked behind tank multiple times thinking maybe I left top partially on at one point. But to no avail, which is a blessing but at same time not.
So figured I guess I'll check the overflow boxes. Problem is my canopy is 12" tall, and 11' feet long and is 1 pc. So I needed help from the fiance just to slide it off the tank enough for me to see back there without having to unplug 8 led fixtures.
So carefully sliding it back revealed a few things.
1. Sooooo much detritus and gunk had accumulated over past 2.5yrs.
2. My missing female flame wrasse was chilling in there, yay!
Still no earlei:(
Time to check other side.
No avail. That side was void of fish
Now to check my cramped sump. Problem here is refugium lights were off and didn't want to turn them on. So I removed my filter sock only to discover my missing for 2 or 3 months orangeback wrasse(I thought it died). No my filtersocks are not that old, probably made his way down there when I pulled up the drain. Into the QT tank he goes, as I've wanted him and 2 other wrasses out of my tank for a while. Too plain, in my opinion. My wrasse taste has gotten expensive due to guys like Lawrence, wayne, Bradley, Dmorty, wrasseman, ca1ore, steelersfan, and a few others im forgetting. Anyway, I digress.
So this AM, while refuge lights are still on, I venture my head into the crowded stand only to see a glimpse of a reddish head.could this be... In efforts to catch the red headed beast in question, I also notice a millers Molly that had been missing for at least 6months. Anyhow back to task at hand. After 15-20 minutes of maneuvering around, probes, 2 skimmers, Ca reactor pump and various cords I caught the lil bugger. It was my missing Earlei!!!!!!!
Back to the DT he went and a huge sigh of relief settled in.
I do have grates on my overflow, but the do get covered with algae, so sporadically I remove 1 at a time to let the algae dry out and die. They must have found their way during those times.
Now, I know what you have thought a few times during this story..."he doesn't notice when his fish are gone, or he doesn't really care"
Well having an 11' tank, 40ish fish and a fairly stocked mixed reef can make it tough to take inventory all the time.
But when a rare or expensive fish goes missing, I'm sure to look a lil harder.
So d@mn right im excited to find my earls, and the others are icing on the cake.

I saw Lawrence. Although a great price, and one of my favorite Angels,
1. It's xlarge, so may be an older one, and can't pay that price for a fish that may be near end of lifespan
2. IVe been getting into more zoas and fleshy lps, and a xlarge Pygmy angel would probably make quick work of them.
