Hi there I recently bougth a phytoplankton dry food, to my 55 tnak. it isn the direction to add 1/4 teespon daily. and in some time it will form a "web"

What is that a "web"

I'd have to read the directions myself to be sure, but I'm betting they are referring to the food web or what used to be called the food chain. The phyto will be at the base of the food chain and feed zooplankton and filter feeders.

Howdy aaron7405 ! What is in your tank? flake phyto is not even close to the real thing - live phytoplankton integrates with the water column whereas flakes are broken down to excess nutrients of dead plankton. And if Bill is correct, flake plankton is not a natural part of the chain. I would monitor when you use it, watch what it does- if it starts collecting on the bottom I would stop. T
