I recently oredered a Phoenix 250W 14K DE Bulb online and received it today. It came in a plain white box with no markings on it and the light does not have any notes on it stating that it is a Phoenix bulb. Is there anyway I can tell if it is Phoenix or just some cheap generic bulb?

I've bought them from Hellolights before and that's how they were packaged. It may depend on whether you trust the source - but it's not a surprise it arrived like that.

Have you fired it up yet? Until it burns in for a few weeks it will be very blue.

Its been a couple years since I had a pair of them but I thought PEC was printed on the lamp and maybe Japan and maybe some electrical codes/details. But they very well could have changed over that time.

I bought 2 from reefgeek about 3 months back, came in with box with no wrighting. The bulb has Japan writen on it with some other stuff but right now light is too blinding to stare at. I will check later after lights go out and post back for you.

My Phoenix bulbs were in a plain white box as well. That's how they are packaged in Japan, I've bought them three times since my tank is three years old.

There was a piece of paper inside my blank white box that had phoenix somewhere on it i believe ( All japanese though) On my bulb it also says
150 watt
blue
japan
