Phosban Reactor In Sump Questions

My sump is split in 2 sections.
1 side has my protein skimmer and the other side has my 2 return pumps.

When I install my Phosban reactor should the pump be on the side of the skimmer / return side or makes no difference?

Also which side should I place the return from the reactor ?

Thanks

Phosban Reactor In Sump Questions

I have mine in the return section. the output of the reactor I have close to the return pump.

I like to run phosban reactors with the pump in the return section (or runnin off the return pump) and the output in the skimmer section. This serves three purposes. The first is that the skimmer will eliminate some detritus and prevent it from clogging the reactor sponges. Second, in the event of over tumbling or "dusting" of the GFO, the skimmer will hopefully pick up some of the dust before it reaches the display tank. Third, it provides flow all the way through the sump when the return pump is shut off, this prevents heaters from boiling one sump section and leaving others to cool.

I have my Reactor(s) T'd off from the return line and so they get whatever is about to head to the DT, goes through the reactor, they goes right back into the fuge which dumps into the return area..

It's been good to me as I don't have to use any additional pumps I just rely on my return being active, which it always is.

Although, putting the output into the drain (where my skimmer is) isn't a bad idea Ted..
