Phosban reactor words of wisdom?

I can share my experience..

I use carbon and phosban in my reactor. 130g of phosban and 50-75g carbon...You add the phosban first (prerinsed in purified water) then add the carbon on top (prerinsed as well). Once the reactor is full of water some of the carbon will float to the top, no big deal. As long as the phosban is moving in the top 3/4" your good to go. As far as running water into a bucket on start up, if you rinse well you will only need to waste about a gallon. If you do not rinse you will waste around 5 gallons.

side note...the phosban may not tumble on all sides at all times. Not a problem. Also when you first start it up tap on the sides to get trapped air bubbles out....

hope that helps
