Phosban Reactor

I have that filter on two tanks. Works like a champ. Not the best construction, but it's adequate. Just check that you don't get any of the media around the o-ring or the lid or it will leak.

As for the media, any iron-based media (Phosban, RowaPhos, etc.) would work well. The new Warner Marine PHOSaR (especially the HC version) is well received here on RC.

One thing to remember is to set the flow rate carefully. Too much flow will grind the media into dust, which can irritate corals.

For the pump, I use one of the Mini-jets on one and a Maxi-jet on the other (just what I had available). You can control the flow with a valve that comes with the reactor, but I like the Mini-jet better if you are going to but specifically for this reactor.

I use one for running carbon with..

I use a spare maxi-jet 1200 I had laying around..

I'd say a maxi jet 600 would work well or one of the mini-jet's..

For something so simple, it works very well...
