Phosphate Testing

What do you guys use to test phosphates?

I've been using the Hanna ULR phosphorus checker but the last couple of days I've been getting some very inconsistent results.

I've had very consistent results with my Hanna ULR. A few things that help:
A clean vial
Consistent 10ml
Make sure powder is dissolved completely in 2 minutes
Testing same time during the day

Am I missing any other tips anyone?
Also, how inconsistent are we talking? What's the range of readings?

I've been testing fairly cosistent for the last 6 months but this week I'm getting 47 ppb one time run it again and its 22 ppb. Even my rodi water test 22 then ran it again 9 ppb. I use a pipette to get consistent 10 ml. I also dry the vial and wipeoff finger printsvin between steps. I always turn the 10 ml marker forward so the vial is sitting the same direction.

Maybe I'll have better luck tomorrow.

I think its key to make sure you get everything humanly accurate with this test. Clean, exact amount (i bought a 10ml Syringe) and get all the powder out.

So I got my ICP back it read .03 to the .12 of the hanna 736 ULR. Today my hanna 713 check reads 0 ppm my 736 ulr reads .12 ppm.

Had a small outbreak of what I believe to be dinos causing some issues with my monti corals and starting to hit some of my lps and acros.

I'm hoping getting PO4 up a little clears up the outbreak and I'm checking with BRS and Hanna just to make sure there are no know issues with this new batch of reagents I started around the time of these high PO4 readings.

The ulr checker showed my RODI at .06 ppm but the ICP shows 0.

Do you run the 3 min timer on the meter to give time for powder to dissolve?

Yep, I use a 10 ml pipette, I always wipe down the cuvettes to remove finger prints, I always face the 10 ml label out so the light passes through the same side of the cuvette, I always rinse with rodi after each use.

The checker ran pretty good for 9 months its just since I got the last batch of reagents that I've got bad readings.
