I just purchased a Canon Powershot Pro1. I can not take a good pic of a fish period. I am tying to take close up pics. The fish will be in focus when I take the picture but because the fish is constantly moving the pic always blurs. Any pointers on what setting I should use for this? I have been messing with the shutter speed but have not got it right yet. Taking pics of corals etc is not a problem.

It helps if the motion is towards or away from the lens as opposed to across the lens, that being said unless you have some potent lighting you might try working with a flash unit as this will tend to 'freeze' your subject providing some striking detail and contrast. Set your f-stop to a lower number ie. 4.5 or 5.6 to help blur distracting backgrounds. Also panning, or moving with your subject can help as well as adding a very dramatic background effect.

I found that using a flash made the biggest difference. Also, if there is anyway to minimize the time from clicking the shutter release to the picture being taken that is a major problem with a lot of non-SLR digicams.
