Photo of the Week... Public Aquariums!

Greg! Great shot! And thanks for a great idea for a thread! I'll have to post more later. In a couple weeks, I also head back to Monterey Bay, I'll have to collect some for this thread.

I'll be in Jenkinson's Aquarium this Sunday for our Club meeting in NJ. I'll post my findings there next week. :D

Looking forward to seeing more pics from more public aquariums. It's been more than twenty years since I visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium... gotta get back there.

Here are some shots I took at the Florida Aquarium in Tampa last week.

One huge freshwater tank must have had several hundred fish in it

Technically not public aquaria but the hippo pond at Busch Gardens with hundreds of African cichlids in with the hippo, boy do they look good in natural sunlight.

I'll be posting up some pics from Jenkinson's Aquarium on the boardwalk, PT Pleasant NJ in the next few days, just need to sort them out

Hurry up and sort! :p
In the mean time, I'll post another shot of the reef tank at the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific:

I think the tank is 2000 gallons- those clams at the bottom of the tank are about two feet long.

SOCAL Long Beach Aquarium Visit.

The shark tank... well the sharks started to get very agressive towards the divers cleaning the acrylics. Grabbed a few shots, notice how hard the divers are breathing, the sharks get between them and the wall (a big no no) and then the sharks engage them as they exit.

The last shot is of the halides on the big tank.
