Photo on the net even though it's Canon is fun even if you shoot Nikon, (you will get ribbed at times though, at least I do). Also a lot more active than Nikoncafe.

NikonCafe - my favorite Nikon forum. Very family-oriented.
dpreview - very active forum, although too many rude posters, wannabe's, and the dark background will make your eyes sore
photography-on-the-net - for folks who shoot white lenses
Fred Miranda - pretty nice people, good discussions. Perhaps the best buy n sell forum
Nikonians - used to be good, now just a pay site.

FredMiranda has one of the best buy and sell sections ever. I have used it many times. They also have pretty decent discussions. You will typically get a response or two to pretty much any C&C you put up.
